The Pet Sitter, LLC Policies and Useful Tips:

 

Consultation: The first consultation is free if services are scheduled within 7 days of the consultation. Otherwise there is a $16 charge that is fully refundable at the time of the first pet sitting job completed any time in the future. Interviews not resulting in scheduled services are also $16 per visit. The purpose of the consultation is for you to meet your sitter and me and for us to meet you and your pets prior to the first scheduled visits. We will review your information and pet(s) and home routine and test the keys at the consultation.

 

Keys: 2 keys must be provided at the time of the consultation. Please test both keys prior to the consultation. We prefer to keep the keys in our locked key box for future pet sitting visits. All keys are identified by the pet names and password protected Power Pet Sitter ID number.

 

Keys are returned free (via mail or in person) after the first two pet sitting jobs. After that there is a $10 fee (each way - pick up before pet sitting job and delivery after completion of the pet sitting job) for those preferring this option. There is no charge if keys are kept in our lock box. 

 

Garage codes are not acceptable as the first means of entrance to your home, but we will accept them as a secondary means of entry as keys and door locks do sometimes fail too.

 

Cancellations: Regular visits may be cancelled, without charge, up to two hours before the scheduled visit or sooner, as long as we are not already en route to your house. For first time clients, overnight visits must be cancelled within one week of the job start. If cancelled less than one week prior to the visit, the cancellation fee is $30 per night for the total invoice for the scheduled job. This money goes directly to the pet sitter assigned to the job.

 

Minimum Visits: Pets must be visited a minimum of once per every other day. Dogs without a doggie door must be visited no less than twice per day. If  you have a special situation, please call to discuss.

 

Trespassers: Jobs shared between The Pet Sitter, LLC and others, such as friends and neighbors, invalidates The Pet Sitter, LLC pet sitters' insurance. This also applies to others on the property during the same period as The Pet Sitter, LLC contractors. This includes lawn care specialists, cleaning contractors, repair persons, etc.

 

Scheduling:

Preferred: We prefer scheduling to be done through the new on-line scheduling system. You can find this on the home page of my website, www.thepetsitterofboise.com , near the bottom of the home page…see paw prints. Call me for additional instructions. This method is easy and secure. When you schedule using this system, I receive an email notification. I review it, add the appointments to my schedule, and approve it. Once approved, you will receive a confirmation email/invoice.

 

Acceptable: If you are uncomfortable with the on-line system, feel free to call or email me. I will add it to the on-line system and schedule and you will receive an email confirmation/invoice. Paper invoices will be provided to those without internet access.

 

Unacceptable: Please do not call your normal sitter directly to schedule. They have been instructed to redirect calls for scheduling back to me. All scheduling must go through me as a condition of our insurance.

 

Payment:

Preferred: Payment in advance of the pet sitting job or leaving a check on the kitchen counter is the preferred method of payment. Cash or check is preferred, but Paypal is also provided for your convenience.

 

Acceptable: Payment within 7 days of the end of the pet sitting job is also acceptable.

 

Pet and Home Information Updates: Please update information by going to www.thepetsitterofboise.com and clicking on the “Exisiting Client” paw print on the bottom of the home page.

 

Pet Product Pick-Up: There is a $10 fee to pick up additional pet food or necessities that run out during the pet sitting job.

 

Return Home Verification:

Please call or email me when you get home from your time away ( julie@thepetsitterofboise.com  or 484-2969) This is important for the well being of your pets. If I do not hear from you and the pet’s safety, health, or well being is in danger, I will attempt to reach you first. If I cannot confirm your safe arrival home, I will continue visits until I can confirm your arrival back home.

 

Miscellaneous tips:

  • Please avoid elective surgeries and vet care for two weeks prior to your time away.  Examples include vaccinations, spay/neuter, teeth cleaning, etc. If there is a reaction, we may not be there to see it and this could put your pet in a life threatening situation.
  • Please update/verify all contact information prior to your time away. Sometimes emergency contacts change their phone numbers or you may wish to change emergency contacts for various reasons. This can be done on-line through the scheduling software. The software notifies me of any changes made to client information.
  • Please update vet information if you change vets. This is also done on-line or you may call or email me.
  • Notify me if you change the locks. I will stop by to get the new keys and to test them.
  • Please notify neighbors that I will be visiting your home while you are away. Feel free to give them my phone number to call if they have concerns about your pets or home.
  • Keep type of food constant for at least a couple weeks prior to your time away. Also, please make sure there is enough food on hand to make it through your time away. Exception is perishable food such as lettuce and crickets for reptiles.
  • Trip itineraries are nice, but not required. Please include names of hotels and phone numbers.
